Romford stop and search identifies drugs, stolen van and male driving with no insurance or licence.
A stop and search in Romford was able to not only locate drugs, but also identify a stolen vehicle and a male driving whilst disqualified.
On Tuesday 23 April, officers stopped a 19 year old man driving a white van along Havering Road in Romford. Officers had grounds to conduct a search under sec 23 MDA Misuse of Drugs Act and found a small amount of herbal cannabis in the vehicle. Further examination of the vehicle also showed there was another set of plates under the displayed ones.
The van was seized and an investigation continues to identify the owner. The man has been charged and remanded for driving whilst disqualified, driving with no insurance and not in accordance with a licence, possession of a controlled drug of Class B.
