Police investigation launched following vandalism of the Town Hall.


Havering police have launched an investigation after the Town Hall in Romford was vandalised. Windows were smashed and damaged was done to the building.

Officers attended the Town Hall this morning and the investigation has now began. No motive has so far been established for this act of vandalism that has seen multiple windows smashed including those of the Leader of the Council.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were contacted at around 06:00 on Monday, 29 April after it was reported that Havering Town Hall, Main Road, Romford had been vandalised and damaged.

Officers attended the scene and an investigation has been launched.

Superintendent Simon Hutchison of East Area Neighbourhood Policing said: “We were called on Monday, 29 April to reports Havering Town Hall had been vandalised and damaged.

 At this stage no motive has been established but we are working with the council and following up investigative leads to identify who is responsible.

 Anyone who has any information that could help should call police on 101 quoting CAD 1004/29Apr.”
