Making balconies bloom at Park Rise retirement village.
New and prospective residents of the Park Rise retirement village enjoyed an informative gardening event last weekend to learn about making the most of their new balconies.
New home owners, prospective buyers and council residents were joined by St Andrews Ward Councillors Gerry O’Sullivan and Councillor Bryan Vincent on Saturday 13 April at the new Park Rise retirement village, Hornchurch to find out more about gardening and to meet their neighbours.
The event was hosted by Porter Glenny, the sales agents for the 95 one- and two-bedroom apartments built exclusively for independent living for the over 55s.
Situated by Harrow Lodge Park, the sun was out and refreshments were plentiful as attendees learned handy hints from hobbyist Marion on what plants, pots and care is needed to keep the balconies at their new homes blooming all year round.
One attendee, Joyce, who is in the process of purchasing her new home at Park Rise, said:
“Park Rise is stunning! I can’t wait to move in and for my sisters to be able to visit and stay in the guest suite. I think I am going to be very happy here.”
St Andrews Ward Councillors Bryan Vincent and Gerry O’Sullivan added:
“It is an excellent development and very clear from today’s event that people are keen to live at Park Rise.
“We are really looking forward to representing this new community and being able to welcome them to their new homes.”
