MP welcomes strengthen policing presence across Elm Park.

Jon Cruddas, Dagenham and Rainham Member of Parliament, has welcomed the package of strengthened policing across Havering and specifically for the additional officers being brought in to the Safer Neighbourhoods Team serving Elm Park.

Mr Cruddas told the Havering Daily: “The increase in the strength of the Elm Park SNT with two additional officers will mean a greater police presence on the streets and shopping parades in Elm Park. 

I know that the staff and managers of the shops in Elm Park will warmly welcome this action that will help deter the spate of shoplifting and intimidation that they have endured”.

Jon added: “This is a significant investment as part of the drive for stronger neighbourhoods. I have also been told that there will be further new officers joining Havering Safer Neighbourhoods South which will bring the local Police service back up to full strength”.

Mr Cruddas hosted a meeting several weeks ago to talk about the ongoing shoplifting nightmare the area has endured. Now, several measures have been put into place as a result including a Whatsapp Shop Watch group to support retail workers in Elm Park.
