‘This closure order will come as a great relief to those in the area and further cements our commitment to making Harold Hill a safer place to live, work and raise families-Inspector Routley.

On Friday, 8 March, Heaton Safer Neighbourhoods Team, alongside partners from Havering Council, served a full closure order on blocks 1-12 Rothbury House, Kings Lynn Drive, Harold Hill.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team worked with Havering Council to document the issues and gather information relating to anti-social behaviour at Rothbury House after complaints were received from the local community.

In addition to ASB, complaints included violence, drugs and shoplifting offences in Farnham Road.

The closure order was granted by Barkingside Magistrates Court on Friday, 8 March and will run for three months. The windows and doors at the premises have been secured and anyone entering the block will be liable to arrest.

Inspector Charlie Routley, tactical lead for Clear Hold Build in Havering said: “This is another example of great partnership working between ourselves and Havering Council.

“Rothbury House was a magnet for ASB, violence and drug related offences, having a really negative effect on the quality of life for those who live in the area.

“This closure order will come as a great relief to them and further cements our commitment to making Harold Hill a safer place to live, work and raise families.”

Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, said “

“Anti-social behaviour has a negative and often, frightening impact on residents and the community.

“Working in partnership with the police and other partners, plus talking and listening to residents, local businesses and communities, means we can all join together to crack down on this crime.

“Our aim is to help make our borough safer and an enjoyable place to live, work, visit and go to school.”
