EXCLUSIVE: Mum’s horror as she witnesses shocking Romford shopping centre stabbing.
‘One man ran off and the other man with the blood pouring from him was shouting-‘He’s the man who stabbed me repeatedly.’
A Havering mother who witnessed the stabbing at The Brewery Shopping Centre in Romford on Tuesday, has told the Havering Daily that she is too scared to visit Romford on her own now.
The mum and her young child in a pram had been out shopping, when the shocking incident took place in broad daylight in front of many families.
“I was on the ground floor when I saw two Asian men arguing. They were shouting at each other loudly and people began to look at them. The next thing I saw was one of the men had blood pouring from him and he kept jumping about everywhere. It was a terrible scene as the security did not know what to do, the blood was being left all over the floor and the cleaners arrived and started mopping it up!
“One man ran off and the other man with the blood pouring from him was shouting-‘He’s the man who stabbed me repeatedly. I couldn’t see where he had been stabbed as he kept moving about and jumping over the escalators. He didn’t collapse, it was more like he had gone really crazy with anger. I don’t think people realised just what had happened and how serious it was.”
Witnessing the stabbing has left the mum too scared to visit Romford on her own now.
“I don’t want to go back on my own now and I’m very glad that I had someone to talk to when I went home as it really was an awful scene to witness. I was very scared to see something happen like this, especially in a place full of shoppers that were mainly parents and their children. It’s very frightening.”
It is believed the man who had been stabbed left the shopping centre and made his own way to the hospital before the police arrived.
Police have confirmed his injuries are not life threatening.
A man was arrested on the same day in regards to the stabbing and the investigation continues.
