Local winners receive their prizes for the special ‘Lights Up Event.’

Yesterday, Tuesday 20 February, winners from the special ‘Lights Up Event’ held last year, were awarded their prizes by Havering Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn.

The event took place Chigwell Windows in Collier Row and saw a special ceremony held by Julie Frost and Lesley Haylett from the Collier Row Community Group, that included John from Chigwell Windows alongside Mawney Ward Councillors Dilip Patel and Jason Frost.

For the Lights Up event on 1st December, visitors were asked to take a selfie in the frame at each of their sticker stations – Keys & Lee, Keystones Property, Samantha’s Flowers, North Romford Community Centre and Ascension Church and put on our Facebook page.  Winners were picked in January and prizes were given at the event on Tuesday 20th February at Chigwell Windows.  Prizes were donated from Cut Above Hair Salon, Scooperb Ice Cream Parlour and Collier Row Community Group.  Chigwell Windows frame made by M and B Wooden Crafts and Gifts.

Julie Frost told the Havering Daily:

“Thanks to the Mayor of Havering for joining us for this event along with Councillors Dilip Patel and Jason Frost.”

John Patrick represented Chigwell Windows who hosted the event, Rakesh from Scooperb and the Collier Row Community Group was represented by Lesley Haylett and Julie Frost.

Winners and frames they won in were:

4th prize Mickey and Elle (first pic of the small children) – Samantha’s Flowers frame

3rd prize Anya & Ayush – Scooperb frame

1st prize was given to the Mayor of Havering Appeal Fund and the Community Group doubled this to £200.00 – Chigwell Windows frame.
