East Area police officer’s quick thinking saves man life.
An East Area police officer’s quick thinking and proactive actions have saved a man’s life.
PC Mole was driving on her way home, as she approached a bridge she become aware of a vehicle parked with its hazard lights on and saw a male holding onto the railings who appeared to be in a distressed state.
She instantly recognised that there may be a risk of a life and stopped her vehicle to engage with the male. It quickly became evident that the male was considering ending his own life.
Despite being without any personal protective equipment, she bravely restrained the male and slowly removed him from the edge of the bridge and guided him into her own personal vehicle where she continued to build a rapport and prevent the male from leaving and awaited police arrival.
PC Mole’s quick thinking and fast intervention has saved this man’s life.
PC Mole was commended for Professionalism, Dedication to Duty, Bravery, Compassion and Determination to preserve life.
Thank you PC Mole for your hard work and life saving actions.
