Police officer’s bravery saves distressed woman’s life.

PC Keenan’s actions saved a distressed woman’s life. He went to work like all police officers do, knowing that his actions could make life saving changes, and they did.

East Area police received a call from a member of public to a suicidal female. On police arrival they located a female sitting on a ledge around 100 foot high with her feet dangling over the edge looking down at the ground below her.

 PC Keenan quietly approached the distressed lady and proactively placed himself in harm’s way and took hold of the female and gently guided her backwards off the ledge.

The lady was then seen to by London Ambulance Service who provided further support.  The officer’s prompt and proactive measures to detain this lady allowed officers to save the female’s life during a mental health crisis.

PC KEENAN received a commendation for professionalism, tenacity and bravery in order to preserve life.

Well done PC Keenan, your bravery has saved a woman’s life.
