Beam Park Councillors welcome new railings outside Newtons School.
News from Beam Park Labour Councillors Trevor McKeever and Matt Stanton.
In addition to the new ‘Caution: School’ signs installed earlier this year on Lowen Road, Councillors Trevor Mckeever and Matt Stanton have been visiting Newtons School, speaking to parents, and listening to their concerns.
The councillors then approached the Council to provide railings on the school side of the road in line with the existing markings at the zebra crossing, and these were installed last week.
“We are really pleased that, although it has taken a long time, these railings are now in place. We spoke to parents and residents about what they wanted, and we made sure it was delivered” said Cllr Mckeever.
“It will not stop every bit of dangerous and unsafe parking” warned Cllr Stanton, “but our Parking Enforcement teams regularly visit the area, and Trevor and myself regularly speak to the school staff and to parents and if further measures are needed we will take that forward.”
