Havering Miniature Railway Club Christmas Special delights hundreds of children.
‘All aboard the Christmas special-choo choo!’
Over the weekend Havering’s Miniature Railway Club hosted its Christmas Special. Ruth Kettle-Frisby joined in the festivities.
There’s no doubt about it, residents in Havering love Havering Miniature Railway Club, and their Christmas Special was not one families wanted to miss. People fell over themselves to grab tickets (the best part or 500 in total) which rapidly sold out…this was no time for slow coaches!
In spite of the drizzle, the event was just the ticket; with live music, warm mince pies, smores cooking and stalls by 2nd Romford Scouts.
And the best part? Santa Claus himself made an appearance. He was tucked away in his surprise Grotto: a magical, festively lit tunnel just before each elf-driven miniature train pulled into the station after a fun-filled ride around Lodge Farm Park.
The proof was in the (Christmas) pudding, and the sheer joy and surprise on the children’s faces signalled that all the care and hard work that had gone into the day had made it an unbridled success.
