The Co-op in North Street, Romford has recently run a campaign to make as many twiddle muffs as possible in a bid to help those with dementia.

The campaign was run by Christopher who told the Havering Daily:

“I work for the Co-op Funeralcare and we got our clients and local residents to knit twiddle muffs for us. We hold a monthly bereavement meeting in our funeral home in North Street where some of these where knitted, we also had a poster in our window in which the local community popped in to pick up wool and patterns from us.”

Twiddle muffs are a great aid for people with dementia who have restless hands.

Christopher continued:
“We had 50 twiddle muffs knitted and on Wednesday 22nd November we delivered them to 3 of our local care homes, The Willows, Nightingale house and Heatherbrook.

Part of what the co-op do is to give back to the community in which we are in and are always looking at ways we can help.”

Well done to Christopher and his team of local residents.

Donating the twiddle muffs to the three care homes.
