Havering Labour Councillors launch consultation on ‘Home to School Transport’ for SEND children.

News from Havering’s Labour Councillors.

Havering’s Labour Councillors want to hear from every resident who is affected within the Council’s consultation on Home to School Transport for Children with Additional Needs.

It is important that children are supported, challenged and inspired to reach their full potential, no matter their circumstances. While change may affect the wellbeing and education of children, we must also be mindful of the impact on hard-pressed parents who may well be coping with other challenges themselves or with other family members.

Havering Labour wants to listen to parents and young people, especially as the Council finds itself in an extremely difficult financial situation. Tough decisions will have to be made. The voices of our most vulnerable and those advocating for them can often be drowned out. We will be a strong voice on their behalf. The consultation can be found at https://consultation.havering.gov.uk/education/home-to-school-transport-consultation/ and closes on the 17th of November.
