Anant is a very special little boy. His dedication in helping the homeless has seen him win a Silver Blue Peter badge.

Anant who attends Upminster School and is in year 1, will have a special assembly dedicated to him this week to thank him for his incredible voluntary work in the community.

His mum Astha, told the Havering Daily:

“Anant recently did a speech at the Nehru centre in London in front of many prestigious people such as the Indian High Commissioner.

“He has been learning four different languages including how to read Sanskript.

“He also does a lot of voluntary work helping the homeless.”

Mum Astha, has been helping projects such as the homeless shelters and Anant has been involved since a young age watching his mum.

“He began to ask how he could also help out and so he started to help give out blankets and carry food to those in need.

“Now, most weeks we are out and about helping those on the streets in need of help. Anant gives out food and clothes and really loves to help.”

Head of Upminster Infant School Mrs Lendon, told the Havering Daily:

“The school is incredibly proud of Anant’s achievement gaining his Silver Blue Peter Badge.

From a young age Anant has been actively involved in the Welcome Project, supporting homeless people.

Anant’s hard work has continued year on year, helping those less fortunate and demonstrating kindness which is also one of our values.

Well done Anant and keep up the great work!”
