BREAKING:Man arrested in Hornchurch after being seen with a firearm.

Parts of Hornchurch were sealed off this afternoon after members of the public reported seeing a male on Airfield Way with a firearm.

The suspect was located by officers on Crystal Avenue where he was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

Two other males were also arrested on suspicion of assault. All three remain in police custody.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at approximately 13:35hrs on Tuesday, 31 October to reports of a male seen in possession of a firearm in the vicinity of Airfield Way, Hornchurch.

Officers including armed officers attended but the suspect had left in a vehicle.

He was located in Crystal Avenue, Hornchurch and arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. Two other males were arrested on suspicion of assault. All remain in custody.”

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
