Man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision in Rainham.
A man in his 40s has sadly died this morning following a collision on the A13 Thames Gateway near the junction with Ferry Lane.
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“Police were called at approximately 05:50hrs on Sunday, 29 October to reports of a road traffic collision involving a number of vehicles on the A13 Thames Gateway near the junction with Ferry Lane, Rainham.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and one man, believed aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Work is underway to inform his next of kin.
No reports of any other serious injuries at this time.
Road closures remain in place around the scene.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.”
Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
