Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial is a well known community figure across east London. The bereaved mum is known for tackling knife crime and installing vital life saving bleed kits to as many venues as she can. Now, she is joining forces with Dunelm Romford to help them ‘deliver some joy’ over the Christmas period.

Dunelm have launched their Christmas campaign that supports many local charities across the Havering area. In the popular Romford store on the Eastern Avenue there is a Christmas tree in the entrance. The tree contains many tags, these tags have requests from those in need in our community. Residents can pick a tag and bring the contents with the tag back to the store.

Sue is supporting this campaign and will be attending the store on a weekly basis to collect tags to help as many people in our community that she can.

Sue told the Havering Daily:”This is a fantastic community campaign that will provide so many people in need with some joy. Well done to our local Dunelm store who have fantastic staff that really care for their community and want to make a difference.

“If you would like to help us support others, please find me on social media or contact the Havering Daily. It is important that we all stand together and help our community. No one else supports us, so it is important that we are there for each other.”
