Margaret Mullane, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham and Rainham, has responded to Rainham residents’ concerns about crime and anti social behaviour in their area. Residents in Magnum Close and The Glen reported nuisance and disturbance at the garage site off Magnum Close.

Margaret told the Havering Daily: “I have looked at the area and seen evidence of substance abuse around the garage compound. The garages are tucked away and not easily overseen. I have written to Havering Council to enquire whether there are any plans for the area and specifically ask that street lighting be installed.

I have also emailed the Rainham Met Police Safer Neighbourhood Team to report the concerns and ask that the area be patrolled. ”

Margaret went on to say that the most effective deterrent against criminal and ASB activity would be for the area to be well lit.
