A very special event was held yesterday in Elm Park at the Havering Asian Social and Welfare Association (HASWA) celebrating women and their contributions to society.

The ‘Teeyan’ event gave women the opportunity to come together and share stories, sing songs, play music and enjoy a meal together.

The event was organised by Manjit and her team at HASWA who are incredible community champions always supporting the many events going across Havering and included Havering’s Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn who joined in yesterday’s festivities.

The ladies looked incredible in their beautiful traditional clothing in a variety of amazing colours!
