Two men arrested on suspicion of robbery after being seen in Gidea Park with a knife.

Witnesses reported seeing two males on Station Road in Gidea Park brandishing a knife yesterday afternoon.

Police were quick to respond and found the males on Squirrels Heath Lane where the knife was recovered. Both males were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at approximately 17:20 on Tuesday, 25 July to reports of two males seen in possession of a knife in the vicinity of Station Road, Gidea Park.

Officers attended and two males were detained in nearby Squirrels Heath Lane. A knife was recovered.

One male was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon; both were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They remain in custody.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
