The finishing touches are being made to Rainham Leisure Centre ahead of the centre opening ahead of schedule next month.

The Leader Havering Council, Councillor Ray Morgon joined Cabinet members, local ward members and Tom Fletcher, Area Contract Manager, Everyone Active, onsite for a tour ahead of next month’s opening.

All ‘dry side’ facilities including dance and spin studio, and a 75-station fitness suite will be complete and handed over to Everyone Active, the company that runs the leisure centres in the borough, on Saturday 1 July with ‘wet facilities’ such as the six-lane swimming pool, opening to the public later this summer.

The Leader of Havering Council, Councillor Ray Morgon, said:

“We continue to be impressed by the new facilities at Rainham Leisure Centre and seeing the project delivered on time is such fantastic work by all the contractors involved.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the centre being enjoyed as a place to stay healthy through exercise, and also somewhere for people of all ages to meet and socialise.

“This will be a wonderful asset not only for the community in Rainham, but for the whole borough.”

Tom Fletcher, Area Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said:

“It’s an exciting time for Everyone Active as we can physically see all the hard work onsite coming together ahead of the opening.

“We are already set to open the fitness suite and dance studios earlier than planned and we can’t wait to welcome visitors.

“We look forward to utilising this site to improve the lives and wellbeing of people in Havering.”
