Firefighters have been tackling a blaze that started this morning at 10.28 at an industrial site in Rainham.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been tackling the fire on Willoughby Drive.

Mixed waste and a vehicle at an industrial yard was alight.

The fire was very visible and produced large amount of smoke. 999 Control Officers received 28 calls regarding the fire.

The Brigade was called at 10:48 and the fire was brought under control by 11:56, but crews remain at the scene.

Crews from Hornchurch, Wennington and Barking fire stations have been in attendance.
