The Liberty Shopping Centre unveils gigantic piece of art in honour of the new King and Queen.
In honour of the coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as King and Queen of the United Kingdom, The Liberty Shopping Centre in Romford revealed an eye-catching mural in the South Mall area between H&M and Next to delight shoppers as they enter and exit the centre from the multi-storey car park.
Adrian Racaru, Marketing Manager of The Liberty, commented, “It’s no secret that King Charles III is an avid artist and is passionate about saving the planet.
“So, in his honour, we decided to commission a piece of artwork to commemorate the coronation long after the celebrations end.”
Produced as part of a community initiative, the artwork was bought to life by local artists Kirsty & Brittany from K&B Design who used their hand-painting and graphic design skills to represent nature and the environment, with a nod to the King’s coronation and the fantastic town of Romford.
Adrian Racaru added, “We have also been working with St Peter’s Catholic Primary School to give pupils the opportunity to be a part of our coronation art display.
“Children were tasked with using their imaginations to create an A4 design. We received lots of brilliant entries into the competition that all deserved to be featured. However we carefully selected the top 10 designs and then sent them to Minky Ninky who transformed the children’s artwork into colourful masterpieces, whilst keeping the original childlike charm.
“We’re extremely proud of our mural and we hope you will love it just as much we do. Come and take a look at it up close on your next visit to The Liberty!”
The 10 winning designs were created by Varvara, Charlie, Jayden, Arya, Brooke, Maliah, Nancy, Nicole Angelica, Maja and Joshua. All 10 children won a £20 gift card to spend at a store of their choice at The Liberty, whilst every child who took part in the competition received a personalised certificate from the centre.
