BREAKING: Sixteen year old arrested on suspicion of a possession of firearm after Elm Park shooting incident.
A 16 year old boy has been arrested after a firearm incident on Mungo Park Road on Saturday 13 May.
On Monday, 15 May, police received a report of a gun having been seen at Mungo Park Road, Rainham.
The incident was reported to have happened around 4pm and involved a young male pointing what appeared to be gun at passing cars.
There were no reported injuries or damage.
Officers made local enquiries and CCTV from the area was examined.
No gun/firearm was recovered. Enquiries continue.
The Elm Park community in Mungo Park Road, were upset by this incident that was captured on CCTV.The footage reveals three young men walking casually past the shops. Suddenly, another individual is seen coming around the corner, walking past the three young men. It appears that one of the three recognised the newcomer and quickly informed the others.
In a disturbing turn of events, one of the three young men swiftly turned around and reached into a white bag, producing a firearm. He approached the individual who had just entered a car and aimed the weapon at him .
Swift work by police officers across East Area has seen a 16 year old now arrested for possession of a firearm.
