Fantastic Dr Who Exhibition Held In Upminster.
On Sunday 1 May an amazing Dr Who exhibition was held at St Laurence Hall. It promised to be a great event for the Havering community and it did not disappoint.
The Havering Daily attended the event and was thoroughly impressed!
There were Darleks, the Tardis, Dr Who costumes throughout the different years and even a special guest appearance by Sergeant Benton, actor John Levine who starred with Patrick Troughton,Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker.
This fantastic exhibition came thanks to James Low who has been a Dr Who fan for most of his life.
James told the Havering Daily:”I always wanted to do this. I have attended many conventions myself and have thought about doing this for a long time.”
James built all the Darleks and Tardis himself and had the costumes all custom made.
“The costumes were made by a tailor and I made the Darleks and Tardis. This year is the 60th anniversary of Dr Who and I thought what a better way to celebrate that this!”
Over 400 people attended the event and James raised an incredible £2030 for Dementia Uk.
James has been a fan since a child: “I have collected Dr Who toys since a child, and as I got bigger, the items got bigger and I began making them myself.
“I also have a signed coat by David Tennant who I met at a London Comic Con event.”
This was an amazing exhibition that people were extremely impressed by.
James finished: “I saw people’s mouth drop as they entered. I don’t think they expected all the items i had!”
Well done James, we hope you host another as the community was certainly impressed!
