The murder of a 77 year old woman in Elm Park yesterday evening has left her community in shock. The victim has been named as Maya and was a regular member of Havering Asian and Welfare Association (HASWA) in Elm Park.
Members of HASWA have spoken exclusively to the Havering Daily about the tragic loss of one of their members.
“She was one of us, one of our community members who was here four days a week joining in all the activities. We are all in shock and heartbroken,” said Manjit Kaur the Project Development Manager.
“She was here yesterday and seemed happy. She liked to attend the yoga classes, the singing classes and really enjoyed it here.”
HASWA are a fantastic local community organisation that cater for all members of Havering and run regular events across Elm Park, this murder has left them all in complete shock.
“We are all in disbelief, her neighbours are shocked and really cannot believe what has happened.

“We are going to miss her loads, this is so sad. Our community really is very heartbroken, she was part of the HASWA family.”
Manjit has described Maya as a lovely pleasant lady who was always friendly and happy to participate in all the events taking place in Elm Park.
She added; “She will be deeply missed and we are a community in total shock today.”
