BREAKING: Woman Found Dead In Elm Park-Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder.

A man in his 70s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a property on Cowdray Way in Elm Park last night. The incident happened at 9.30pm after the man attended the local police station stating he had assaulted a woman.

The house in Elm Park remains cordoned off by police this morning.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“At approximately 21:30 on Tuesday, 2 May a man, aged in his 70s, attended an east London police station and told officers he had assaulted a woman at an address in Cowdray Way, Elm Park.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the address. They found a woman – age awaits – suffering injuries; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A crime scene remains in place.

The man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased and work is under way to inform next of kin.

The man arrested and the woman who died were known to each other.”
