The Eco-Friendly Initiative Transforming Old Frames into Beautiful Garden Furniture
Major Glass and Glazing, a windows company based in Upminster, has found a unique and eco-friendly way to recycle old hard wood frames. Instead of disposing of them, they have been giving them to Barry Major’s father, who has been transforming them into beautiful garden furniture.
Barry Major, the director of Major Glass and Glazing, said that the company used to dispose of the old wooden frames, but he felt that it was wasteful and harmful to the environment. “We wanted to find a way to recycle them and give them a new purpose,” he said.
That’s when Barry had the idea of giving them to his father, who has a passion for woodworking. His father has been working with wood for over 50 years and has the skills and experience to turn the old frames into stunning garden furniture pieces.
“I love working with wood, and when Barry asked me to help him recycle the frames, I was thrilled,” said Barry’s father. “It’s been a joy to create something new from something old.”

The garden furniture pieces created by Barry’s father are not only beautiful but also eco-friendly. They are made from reclaimed wood and have a rustic, natural feel that fits perfectly in any outdoor space. The pieces are also durable and long-lasting, as they are made from high-quality hardwood.
Barry Major is proud of the initiative taken by his company and his father. “We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and finding new ways to recycle and reuse materials. It’s great to see that something as simple as old wooden frames can be transformed into something beautiful and useful.”

In addition to recycling the old wooden frames, Major Glass and Glazing has also implemented other eco-friendly practices in their business, such as using energy-efficient windows and reducing waste.
The initiative taken by Major Glass and Glazing and Barry’s father is an excellent example of how individuals and businesses can contribute to a more sustainable future. It shows that with a little creativity and effort, we can find new ways to recycle and reuse materials and reduce our impact on the environment.
