Havering Residents Agree With Poll That Half Of Londoners Feel Sadiq Khan Is Doing Badly As Mayor.
A survey by YouGov recently found that half of Londoners were not happy with London Mayor Sadiq Khan and feel that he is doing badly as Mayor.
Here in Havering, residents not only agreed, but felt that the number should be more than half as so many residents in the borough did not like his performance as the Mayor of London.
One resident told the Havering Daily: “I majorly regret voting for him. Voting Tory would go completely against my principles, but to be honest for the first time in my life, I think i’d be prepared to vote for a Conservative Mayor.”
Another reader told the Havering Daily: “Terrible Mayor, crime is up, knife crime is completely ignored, he has ruined London.”
Many feel that he has not tackled the aspect of crime, in particular knife crime at all and repeatedly fails to talk about the violence across the streets of London.
One reader told the Havering Daily: “We hear him push through ULEZ, but no mention of the many teenagers stabbed across the capital on a regular basis. Now we have shootings of teenagers as well and there is no mention of any of this.”
The poll found that 32% thought he was doing a ‘very bad job’. 81% of over 65 year olds thought that Sadiq Khan was doing badly. Whilst young Londoners were more supportive of Mr Khan with 40% of those aged between 18- 24 saying he was doing well.
Results showed that 62% of Londoners did not support his handling of crime.
The YouGov poll also revealed that Londoners were just as critical of other politicians. 51% felt that Prime Minister Sunak was doing badly as leader of the country. 44% believed Keir Stammer was also doing badly as Labour leader. 33% of Londoners felt that Met Police Commissioner Mark Rowley was also doing badly as head of the Met Police.
