Councillor Judith Holt handed over a 600 signature petition at last week’s full council meeting in a bid to get a lollipop man or lady at the two zebra crossings on Brentwood Road. Councillor Holt would like one near Globe Road near Hylands Primary School and one near The Frances Bardsley Academy to help school children cross this very busy stretch of road.

Councillor Holt, who is very active in her ward, told the Havering Daily: “It is very worrying that the Council’s Budget includes withdrawing funding for school crossing patrols. The safety of our children should be a priority. Lollipop men and ladies have been part of school communities for generations. I hope common sense will prevail and some kind of crossing patrol can be installed at these two crossings.”
