East Area Violence Suppression Unit Arrest Male With Knife In His Waistband.

A member of the public came forward to alert the police in Romford that they had seen a male carrying a knife on South Street this afternoon.

East Area Violence Suppression Unit attended and after a search of the area they identified a male fitting the description given to them by the member of the public.

As the officers approached the male, they could visibly see the knife in his trouser waistband.

He has now been arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
