Petition Launched to Remove Mayor of London’s Powers For All Road User Charges.
A Havering resident has launched a petition to remove all road user charges powers from the Mayor of London.
Ed Green launched the national petition recently and it has already received 14,500 signatures and has the backing from the Hornchurch and Upminster MP Julia Lopez.
Mr Green told the Havering Daily:”This petition will include the ULEZ expansion and further road charging schemes such as a pay per mile plan that will be done through the spy camera network.
“You can already see the level of anger amongst people as cameras are being smashed and wires being cut.
“The consultation was deliberately corrupted, a group of motorists from a particular organisation left 5,000 objections that were all discounted. It still goes to show that 68% of the people voted against it.”
Mr Green, like many other residents across the outer London Boroughs, is fed up of not being listened to by the Mayor of London.
“I launched the petition in the hope to get enough votes to force a parliamentary response and we have that. Plus, this campaign will allow people to be listened to. The ULEZ expansion is fundamentally unjust. There are carers facing long queues waiting to use buses that do not cover all parts of the borough.
“I am a sports massager, how can I carry my bed and the equipment I use on multiple buses across the day? How can builders, painters use public transport with the equipment they have to carry?
“This is nothing but a tax on those who cannot afford it.”

Ed Green is such a plank.
If he has or gets one of the 90% of vehicles that are compliant then he won’t be charged…
