The demand for Daniel Baird bleed kits has increased threefold since a kit was used to save a student’s life last week.

Last Tuesday an 18 year old was stabbed on Ardleigh Green Road and with the help of his friends, made his way to New City College where staff rushed to save his life using the bleed kit.

The kit had been donated by Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial and is London Ambulance approved.

Now, a week on and the community has reached out to Sue to have more of these Daniel Baird bleed bags.

Sue told the Havering Daily:

“I hope to donate as many of these vital life saving tools as I possibly can. However, we desperately need more funds to buy them.

“We have been holding raffles and doing what we can to get funding for them, but sadly the money has run out now.

“Unfortunately we don’t get regular funding from anyone and have to look to the community to help find us. It shouldn’t be this way as these are such important tools to have as we saw last week.”

If you would like to help Sue buy more life saving bleed bags to donate to the community, please email us at newsdesk@thehaveringdaily.co.uk and we will put you in contact with Sue.
