Residents slam Romford ‘death road’ after repeated collisions.
For residents living on Crow Lane or just near it, the sight of a vehicle involved in a collision is not unusual. Actually they have now named it the ‘Road of death’ following what has become almost a hot spot for daily collisions.
Arthur who lives just off Crow Lane, told the Havering Daily: “I use Crow Lane everyday and most of us living here are used to seeing police cars here or cars smashed up on the pavement.
“The mini roundabout near the postal office building is always where I take extra precautions, as sadly many of the Royal Mail workers just pull out and never look.
“We know it is just a question of time and there will be a serious accident here. We have been shouting about the dangers of this road for a while now.
“Unfortunately it is always after a serious event that people start to take notice.”
Last week, once again numerous collisions took place on Crow Lane.
One local who had parked his car in a bay on Crow Lane, returned the following morning to find that all the cars in the bay had been hit, his car had been moved due to the speed it was hit at and was consequently written off.
Residents living in the area are appealing for help to the council to avoid a fatality taking place.
