28 year old man in critical condition after being stabbed in Barking.
A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed on the Gascoigne Estate in Barking this afternoon. It was reported that he was attacked by a group of males armed with weapons.
The 28 year old is currently in a critical condition.
A man has been arrested near the scene.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“Police were called at around 13:15hrs on Friday, 27 January, to reports of a man being assaulted in Gascoigne Road, Barking. It was reported that he was being attacked by a group of males armed with weapons, including knives.
Officers attended the scene. A 28-year-old man was taken by ambulance to hospital suffering stab injuries. His condition is critical.
Detectives from the Met’s East Area CID have launched an urgent investigation. A man was arrested near to the scene in connection with the incident. Enquiries continue.
A crime scene is in place. A Section 60 has been authorised for the IG11 postcode area as officers work to keep people safe.”
