Since Trees for Havering was launched in 2021, it has relied mainly on contributions from local residents and community groups for equipment, as well as the Woodland Trust and the Conservation Volunteers for all of the new trees.

After seeing the Trees for Havering team in action over at Hornchurch Country Park, where over 3000 new trees have been planted so far, Ahern Waste Management & Recycling Services has offered Trees for Havering a huge donation of £2000 to support the campaign.

A spokesperson for Ahern told the Havering Daily,

“We are very pleased to be able to support such a great campaign which will enhance the local natural landscape as well as offset CO2 emissions.”

Trees for Havering organiser, Ross Elliott said,

“With Trees for Havering’s success and the increase in the number of people who want to help plant trees, this donation will allow Trees for Havering to grow and buy more equipment and even some more trees. We really do appreciate the support from Ahern and the community.”
