On Monday December 5, Havering Licensing Team informed the owners of Array in Shepherds Hill, that they are to close their doors at 11pm during the week and 12 am at weekends. This came after a long two days of meetings held at the Town Hall in Romford where both sides were able to share their views of the current situation.

The restaurant is in a residential area and locals living next door to it have had to put up with years of anti social behaviour that has included endless noise, horrendous parking along small roads, a machete attack and a stabbing.

Despite being issued the new closing times and having heard the desperate pleas from locals, Array has continued as before and kept neighbours up until late this mid week.

One local resident told the Havering Daily: “They really don’t care. They are not even trying or thinking about us residents during the week. There are many children here that have to go to school in the morning and are being kept up until late due to the noise.

“All we get is the endless base noise banging through our walls and the vehicles parked there, revving up their engines.

“It started at 7pm and the car revving began from 9.30pm until just after midnight.”

One resident went over to speak with the manager and firmly explained that the music was too loud. They were then informed that it would go off at 10pm. The manager and a security guard came out to hear the noise. level and agreed to turn the music down.

Residents are angry that despite hearing all their pleas and concerns and could visibly see the impact it has had on families living nearby, Array have carried on just as before.
