‘We won a step in the right direction-Array to close at 11pm week days and 12 am weekends.’
After two days of meetings at the Town Hall in Romford, Havering Licence Team set out new objectives for Array, the restaurant based on Shepherds Hill.
Local residents have been at their wits end with the level of anti social behaviour around the premises, including a parking nightmare that has seen visitors park on people’s driveways, fighting that has included a machete attack and a stabbing, endless noise that keeps residents up until 2.30am and even last weekend that saw a rubbish lorry come and collect empty bottles at 4am on a Sunday morning.
Residents living near the restaurant have endured endless issues for years and have gained the support of their local councillors and the police.
Now, after another day at the council chamber, Havering Licence Team agreed that Array should shut its doors at 11pm during week days and 12am during the weekend.
Councillor Natasha Summers, with Councillor Christine Smith and Councillor Jane Keane listened very carefully to the two day proceedings and took everything into account before making their decision.
Array have the right to appeal and can continue as they are until the case goes to the appeal court.
Residents do feel that this is a ‘step in the right direction’ and are hopeful that after years of living with nightmare conditions that has kept them up until at least 2.30am every weekend, they can now see light at the end of the tunnel.
