Harold Hill bereaved mum appeals for any unwanted children’s clothes or toys for orphanage built in memory of her murdered son.
When 17 year old Champion Ghanda lost his life on the streets of Newham, his mum thought the sun would never shine again. Now, Peguy Kato from Harold Hill is in the process of building an orphanage for children in Kinshasa,Congo, in memory of Champion who was brutally stabbed to death in 2013.,
“When Champion was just nine years old he was on the books for Arsenal football club and he always asked his grandmother why family back in Congo needed help,” Peguy tells the Havering Daily. “My mum explained that there was a lot of poverty in Africa despite it being a rich country in minerals, the people living there are left in total poverty.
“Champion told my mum that one day he would be a famous footballer like Ronaldo and that he would go back to Africa to help all the poor children.”
With that beautiful memory in her heart, Peguy has now set up the Champion Ghanda Foundation orphanage to help 30 orphans all aged between 0-17 years old to give them a better start in life.
“There are so many poor children in Africa that need help and it is not because people there do not work, it is because they never get the chance they should in life. This orphanage is there to help these children have a chance and a future,” she continued.
Peguy is looking for clothes, book and toys to send back to these children to help them or any donations people can afford.
This lady is an amazing community champion who spends here life working on the streets of London with our youth to try and stop other children dying from the knife. She has a huge heart and really wants to help children everywhere she goes.
Please, if you have any unwanted clothes, or toys for these children who have literally nothing need your help. Please donate them to the Champion Ghanda Foundation.
