Man attacked with machete as wife threatened and forced to hand over jewellery in Hornchurch.
A man and his wife have been been attacked at their home on Park Lane in Hornchurch on Tuesday 8 November. The attack took place just after 3am as police responded to reports of a man injured inside a residential property.
The man in his 40s was found suffering head and hand injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.
A man aged 41 has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and has been bailed to return in mid December.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“Police were called at 03:06hrs on Tuesday, 8 November to a report of a man injured inside a property on Park Lane, Havering.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a man, aged in his 40s, suffering with injuries to his head and hand.
He was taken to hospital where he remains.
The victim reported that four men had gained access to the house and attacked him with a weapon.
They also threatened his wife and forced her to hand over jewellery and her phone.
One man, aged 41, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. He has been bailed to return to a date in mid-December.”
