A year 8 pupil at Hornchurch High School has been physically and verbally assaulted and now had his life threatened by a group of fellow year 8 pupils.

The teenager currently has his foot in a boot after being assaulted again just recently and fears being in the same area as his bullies.

His mum, who did not wish to be named, told the Havering Daily: “He had to have his hair cut but refused to go to Romford as he knew the boy doing this to him would be there.”

Following this on going ordeal, the teenager has under gone twelve weeks of counselling to help him deal with the bullying he is enduring.

“My son is quiet and doesn’t retaliate which is why they pick on him. He gets taunted verbally and he has been fly kicked, side tackled and now recently sustained an injury to his leg and foot which means he has to wear a boot.

“I have begged the school to please do something. I have screen shot pictures that show this boy on snapchat with part of his face covered and holding a knife, or snapchat videos of him beating up other pupils.

“Now he told my son he was going to kill him.”
The mum is distraught and fears for her son’s mental health and well being.

“He has had twelve weeks of counselling and is under CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services). This bullying is having a huge impact on him.

“He loves to play football and sometimes can’t because the boy who bully’s him is there.

“The school have told me that they don’t have the ability to keep him safe at lunchtime as they don’t have someone to be with him throughout the lunch period. He has been allowed to leave at the end of the day five minutes early, but not all the teachers allow him to.

“I have shown the police and the Headteacher the photos that have been screenshot from the snap chat videos of this boy carrying a knife and beating up other boys. I fear for my son.”

The bullying began in March and has continued since despite the mum’s desperate pleas for help.

“I have begged them to please do something and now my son has had his life threatened, I am scared and worried what this boy will do next.”

In response Hornchurch High School have told the Havering Daily:

“The Headteacher, Senior Team , Safeguarding Team and the Governors have all supported (the mum) and her son over the past year to ensure that he feels safe in the school. Lines of communication are always open. All appropriate actions have been taken to sanction where necessary, and parents are very supportive of our zero tolerance on bullying policy. We will, of course continue to work closely to support the family for as long as necessary.”
