The London wide ULEZ expansion has angered many across outer London boroughs who feel that this policy is nothing but another money making scheme, and not a way to tackle the capital’s pollution.

Here in Havering, residents have clearly stated their objections and how this expansion would add heavy financial pressure to those who are already badly impacted by the cost of living crisis.

GLA Havering and Redbridge representative and Squirrels Heath Councillor Keith Prince today writes in the Havering Daily.

A Telegraph investigation reveals that responses were removed without proper oversight or scrutiny on the grounds that they were allegedly “duplicate or not genuine”, disproportionately reducing the opposition vote. The news raises serious questions about the integrity of the consultation.

The official results show 66% of the consultation respondents voted against Sadiq Khan’s ULEZ expansion, easily meeting the Mayor’s ‘overwhelming opposition’ threshold. If Sadiq Khan proceeds with the policy, it could be subject to legal challenges.

GLA Conservatives Assembly Members were approached by whistleblowers close to the consultation, who provided consistent and verifiable evidence. On this basis, we can confirm the results reported in the Telegraph are accurate.

Keith Prince added that Sadiq Khan must now scrap the policy. The role out of the ULEZ will ruin Havering’s economy for little or no benefit. He must now address the integrity concerns raised by the Telegraph.
