Man dies in Chadwell Heath house fire.

A man has sadly died following a house fire on Eric Road in Chadwell Heath yesterday morning.

Part of the first floor of a mid-terraced house was damaged by the fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from the first floor. He was treated on scene and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews, where he sadly later died.

The Brigade was called at 10:59 and the fire was under control by 12:17. Fire crews from Dagenham, Barking and Ilford fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
