‘Rainham cemetery site is definitely not another Launders Lane’-Councillors join locals on the site.
On Friday 16 September, the Havering Daily joined councillors and local residents at the Rainham cemetery on Launders Lane.
Residents whose homes back onto the cemetery, have been concerned about the noise level coming from the ongoing works at the site and the dust in the air coming from all the machinery being used.
Friday, they met with Councillors Sue Ospreay and Sarah Edwards from the Rainham and Wennington ward and Councillor Natasha Summers from the neighbouring south Hornchurch ward. They were also joined by site manager Daniel who was able to speak with locals about the works taking place on the land and how to solve their ongoing issues and concerns.
We were given a tour of the site by Daniel where resident Christine and her son Dave, who live on Acer Avenue had the opportunity to see the works going on and chat with Daniel about the noise level there.
Site manager Daniel was very helpful and willing to listen to concerns raised by residents and make what changes he and his workers can to make the site less intrusive for locals.
Councillor Ospreay told the Havering Daily: “Against all odds myself and other two councillors managed to secure a meeting with the person in charge of building works at the on going sold off Jewish Cemetry site, Daniel.
“Councillors for Rainham and Wennington ward Sue Ospreay and Sarah Edwards were also accompanied by fellow HRA team members Councillor Natasha Summers and Daniel Beal, plus suffering neighbours from Acer Christine Read and son Dave joined the group along with myself for a tour of this troubled site.
“We were all pleasantly surprised with Daniel’s willingness to listen and offers to put things right.
This site is not in anyway shape or form another Launders Lane. In fact it is very well organised with materials separated and sorted into individual piles.
“Lengthy, honest and open discussion between Dave, Christine and Daniel were able to take place and
weekly visits have been agreed with the councillors to keep up to date. The site is massive and far larger than I ever could have imagined. Working times were also brought up and will be enforced so residents can at least get some respite.
“It came to light that Daniel, having heard the fate of the Chafford swimming pool, had made an offer to the previous administration to build a brand new swimming pool and sports complex including football pitches over Spring Farm. What a marvellous facility and asset this would have been for the people of Rainham especially our youth. Would love to know what occurred here.
“Contacts will be on going. Watch this page for progress.”

Hello,
My wife is one of the original investors in this development. When Mr. Moretti took over he also made a commitment to honor the investment and was supposed to pay quarterly returns depending no the original amount invested. He’s failed to make those payments at least for the past year with no explanation what so ever. When we try to communicate with Mr. Moretti most of the time we are ignored, if he replays he says something like payment is coming within the next 48 hours and never hear of him again.
Much the same situation for every other Daniel Moretti is involved with.
at least they managed to have a face to face meeting with him, he treats everyone else with contempt.
