Last week Councillor Judith Holt was honoured and privileged to attend the lying-in-state of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Westminster Hall. The St. Alban’s Ward Councillor and Chairman of the Romford Conservative Association queued for six-and-a-half hours to pay her respects to The late Queen, starting at ten to four in the afternoon when the end of the queue was at Southwark Bridge and finishing as Big Ben chimed 10.30 p.m.

Councillor Holt told the Havering Daily: “I curtsied, said some prayers and thanked Her Majesty for everything. I will never forget seeing her crown twinkling on top of her coffin. It was memorable. God bless you, Ma’am!”
