Over the weekend Romford remembered our Queen and her visit to Romford market. It also celebrated our market and its incredible history as market stall holders recalled the day HM the Queen came in 2003 to visit.

The weekend was organised by Julie Frost from Romford BID and was due to be a long weekend of street parties, but was rightly scaled back and dedicated to HM the Queen after her sad passing on Thursday September 8.

It was indeed a very moving tribute to our longest reigning Monarch, as well as a celebration of our market and all its history.

The weekend finished with the Romford Drum and Corps Band marching through the market, followed by a moving tribute read out to HM the Queen by Julie Frost and also remembering all the victims of 9/11.
