Councillor Oscar Ford Cabinet Member for Children and Young People today writes in the Havering Daily.

It was a pleasure to be able to visit one of our borough schools today, and to meet the pupils getting their A Level, AS Level, vocational and T Level qualification results. This is the first time in three years that our young people have sat formal exams, due to covid, in what must have been a challenging time and circumstances.

My congratulations go out to students across the borough, many of whom will now be going on to further their education, taking up apprenticeships, or other employment. For some, this may be a more difficult time, but there is help and guidance for anyone who hasn’t quite got the results that they were hoping for, and there will be a range of opportunities to consider. I wish the very best for all of you receiving results today, and I would especially like to thank Josh, Jess, Kirsty and Chloe, who shared their thoughts and ambitions with me and the visiting officers from the Council.Councillor Oscar Ford Cabinet Member for Children and Young people.
