Residents living on Berwick Pond Close in Rainham are angry with partygoers who park across people’s driveways and garages, clogging up the small road with endless vehicles that obstruct people and their road.

Locals living on this close are actually so fed up with these partygoers that they are now moving away from the road after having lived there for years.

Ronnie who lives on Berwick Pond Close told the Havering Daily:

“We are used to the loud music going on until the early hours of the morning and put up with this. However, we are fed up with the parking that they do. On Saturday (13 August) they arrived and parked across our garages, across our driveways, they make this small road completely inaccessible. An emergency vehicle would not be able to get down our road when they all arrive.

“One of our neighbours who has lived down this road for years has now decided to move as he cannot take this anymore.

“We are all extremely fed up with this situation and are working with our local councillors.”

It is believed the bungalow where the parties are being held is due to be demolished and two three bedroom semi detached houses are going to be built instead, which will cause additional problems to locals in the area due to the small area and lack of parking facilities.

The police were called on Saturday evening, Partnership and Prevention Inspector for East Area David Holgate told the Havering Daily:

“The matter isn’t a police matter as the cars were parked inconsiderately not requiring Police Assistance. I referred him to the council as the main lead for parking enforcement which he is going to speak to again. However- should the antisocial behaviour continue then we will look at other methods to control and hopefully remove the behaviour using ASB legislation.”

Councillor Sue Ospreay told the Havering Daily:

“People should be respecting their neighbours and their environment. The law works when everyone adheres to it and in this occasion they clearly have not and have shown little respect for people living on the close.

“Myself and Jackie and Sarah are in contact with Ronnie to get this matter resolved.”

The inconsiderate parking across driveways and garages with no regards for others.
