16 year old sentenced to 4 months detention for carrying a large Zombie knife and bags of drugs.

A 16 year old youth has been sentenced to four months detention after being charged with possession of an offensive weapon, possession of drugs and threatening behaviour.

On the 20 July, police received multiple calls from members of the public, one of which was an off duty police officer, reporting a disturbance that was taking place between several males. One of the males was seen to be armed with a large knife – he was described by witnesses as a black male wearing a grey tracksuit and a black puffer jacket. 

Officers arrived quickly at the scene and a male matching the description was located inside Thames View playing field in Barking where he was stopped. 

On being searched, he was found to have a small bag containing cannabis and a large Zombie knife.

In his rucksack officers found a further ten small bags of cannabis. 

On 20th July 2022, the 16-year-old male was charged with possession of offensive weapon, possession of cannabis and using threatening behaviour.

He appeared at Barkingside Court, where he was sentenced to a four months detention and training order and to pay £34 victim surcharge.
