Yesterday Thursday 28 July, residents from across the borough gathered together outside of Hornchurch Fire Station to thank our firefighters for their incredible work undertaken last week due to the extreme heat.

Our firefighters lined up outside of the fire station to meet locals who came armed with homemade cookies, boxes of biscuits and even a box of doughnuts to thank them for their amazing work.

Hornchurch Station Commander Graham welcomed families in to see the fire engine and chat with firefighters.

Local resident Monica came with her children Mia and Joshua, delivering some delicious home made cookies made by Joshua in the shape of stars.

Havering’s Mayor, Beam Park ward Councillor and retired firefighter once based at Hornchurch fire station Councillor Trevor McKeever was also at the event to cheer on our brave firefighters.

Thank you to all of you who came along to give your support to our firefighters.
